Aloe Vera Skin Tonic

Aloe Vera Skin Tonic

For softer, smoother skin. I have read that rubbing the gel from an Aloe Vera plant on your face can help reduce fine lines, reduce pores, reduce the appearance of scars and make you feel more confident. So I have started the daily skin treatment of Aloe Vera gel mask as a skin tonic each morning. I will do this for 7 days and share with you my results of softer, clearer and healthier skin.

You can purchase a plant of Aloe Vera at most nurserys or even at your local Bunnings. Because they are very similar to a cactus they barely need any watering and thrive in a sunny spot on your window sill or in your yard. My neighbour in Ormeau gave me my first plant. Then I received another species off my Dad, from his backyard. Here is why I started rubbing the gel into my skin for a beauty boost.

Step 1

Source a good quality Aloe Vera plant. Might be the best addition or first start to your home garden and living a more sustainable life.

Step 2

Pick 1x part of a leaf off and peel back the skin and spikes to show the gel inner. Rub this over your skin to make an even coverage. As you rub a soothing cool feeling should freshen your skin.

Step 3

After 20 minutes the gel will dry into a mask like coverage. Gently wash off with cold water and pat dry with a clean towel. You will be closer to your goal of beautiful, youthful skin. 😉

Most of us know about the aloe vera medicine plant, possibly from childhood when it was usually located in a handy spot to treat minor burns and scrapes. Today, aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis) has a wealth of uses. It is included in many cosmetic products. Juices of the plant are still used for burns but is also used to flush the system. It is known as a superfood. We may be familiar with other aloe plant types, too, and even grow them as houseplants or in the landscape.
